We’ve also been delighted by the response to our ladies’ khussa, which I brought back from a recent trip to Pakistan. These handcrafted shoes, adorned with intricate embroidery, are a little piece of artistry for your feet—and they’ve been flying off the shelves, so to speak! Crafted by a small band of women artisans under the guidance of Rena Hopkins, these pieces are for the bookish, the curious, the ones who delight in the unexpected. Their designs whisper elegance with a playful wink, blending Victorian-Edwardian charm with a dash of quirky wonder. We’re smitten with their thoughtful gift items, all priced to welcome everyone into their world. This month, we’re awaiting a few new delights from The Divine Iguana: Ladybug Vintage Inspired Glass Cabochon Earrings that look like they’ve fluttered straight out of a storybook, and a Blue Edwardian Teapot Cuff Bracelet that’s equal parts dainty and daring. Fifteen years ago, they met amidst the wild beauty of Alaska, and after a combined 25 years in the tea industry, they’ve poured their hearts into this venture. Apolis Tea is all about craftsmanship—sourcing teas and ingredients with care, working with producers who embrace biodynamic and organic methods, and blending tradition with a spark of innovation. They’re the kind of folks who believe in being prompt, available, and reliable, and that old-fashioned care shines through in every cup. Late April will bring us three new offerings from Apolis: Organic English Breakfast Tea (loose), a bold morning companion; Organic Earl Grey (loose), with its citrusy whisper of bergamot; and Organic Chamomile in tea bags, a soothing hug for your evening wind-down. These teas are the perfect addition to your springtime escapes, whether you’re savoring a quiet moment or hosting a little gathering.

Honey House Naturals: The Sweetness of Simplicity
Some treasures take time to find their spotlight, and Honey House Naturals is one of those quiet beauties. Born on a farm near Puget Sound, Washington (another home state find) this brand began with Ruth Willis, a “Queen Bee” who tended bees to help her family’s orchard thrive. When the bees gifted her with honey, Ruth saw an opportunity to do more. She crafted her first Bee Bar—a concentrated lotion bar of pure beeswax and healing emollients—to soothe a friend’s cracked hands, and from that act of kindness, a legacy bloomed.
